BRTC double-decker bus, truck set ablaze in Gazipur

Miscreants have allegedly set fire to a double-decker bus of BRTC in Tongi and a mini truck stationed on the road in Hotapara of Gazipur on Sunday (October 29) morning while the main opposition BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami were observing their dawn-to-dusk hartal.

Witnesses said a double decker bus belonging to BRTC was set on fire in Tongi around 10:30 am and a mini truck stationed on the road was set ablaze in Hotapara under Joydebpur police station around 9:30 am.

However, no one was injured in these incidents.

Mustafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Tongi East Police Station, said a Dhaka-bound BRTC double-decker bus was set on fire by miscreants in front of Cheragali Market in Tongi during the ongoing hartal.

The blaze was immediately doused by local people, said OC Mustfizur.

Mahtab Uddin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Joydebpur Police Station, confirmed setting fire to the mini truck by miscreants.
