RMG workers stage demo again in Gazipur

Readymade garment workers (RMG) are staging demonstrations again in Gazipur’s Vogra bypass area demanding a hike in their wage.

Workers of TM Fashions Ltd started the demonstrations in the area around 8:30am on Thursday (November 2).

Later, the workers held processions in phases, blocking Dhaka-Mymensingh highway.

On information, police rushed to the spot and fired few rounds of tear shells and sound grenades to disperse the crowd.

Sarwar Alam, Superintendent of Police (SP) of Gazipur Industrial Zone Police-2, said additional police have been deployed in the area to keep the situation normal.

It is mentionable that RMG workers in Gazipur have been staging demonstrations since October 23, demanding wage hike.
