Bus set on fire in Gazipur 

A bus in the Safipur area of Gazipur's Kaliakair upazila was set ablaze by dousing it with petrol on Monday (November 6). The bus driver somehow escaped with his life.

Habibur Rahman, driver of the bus said as usual we were heading towards Konabari this morning. When we approached Safipur market, we had to slow down due to another bus on the east side of the road. At that moment, four to five young individuals suddenly boarded our bus. Without any prior provocation, they proceeded to drench the vehicle with petrol and set it ablaze before making their escape.

Kaliakair fire service station officer Md Rayhan said on information a fire unit rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control.

Kaliakair police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Akbar Ali Khan confirmed the matter.
