4 killed in Mymensingh road crash

At least four people were killed and 15 others were injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a pick-up van on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway at Shikarikanda under Kotwali Police Station in Mymensingh early Tuesday (November 7).

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Kotwali model police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shah Kamal Akanda confirmed the matter.

The OC said that the driver of a Sherpur-bound bus of Fayaz Paribahan from Dhaka lost control over the steering and hit a pick-up van at Shikarikanda and then hit the road divider there at about 12:00am.

On information, locals rushed to the spot and rescued the injured people.

Mymensingh fire service assistant director Md Masud Sardar said five fire units along with policemen joined the rescue operation.
