Arefi never talked to Joe Biden: Harun

Mian Zahidul Islam Arefi, who introduced himself as an advisor to US President Joe Biden, had never talked to Joe Biden. But, a zoom meeting of 10-15 people was held during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2021 where he met with Biden’s wife.

Chief of Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Detective Branch Additional Commissioner Harun-Or-Rashid said this while talking to reporters following the interrogation of Arefi at Kashimpur High Security Central Jail in Gazipur on Tuesday (November 7).

Mian Jahidul Islam Arefi was detained from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on October 29 noon while he was ‘fleeing to the USA.

He introduced himself as an advisor to US President Joe Biden during a press briefing at the BNP office. Later, the US Embassy in Dhaka confirmed that he is not any responsible person of the US government.
