Directive to remain educational institutions closed if temperature drops below 10°C

The ministry of education has directed to remain all educational institutions in the districts closed if temperature falls below 10 degrees Celsius.

Informational and Public Relations Officer of the ministry Mohammad Abul Khaiyer informed this at around 5:30pm on Tuesday.

Director General of Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) Professor Nehal Ahmed also confirmed the news.

Earlier, letters signed by DSHE Assistant Director SM Ziaul Haider Henri sent to nine regional offices that all secondary schools in the districts will remain closed if temperature falls below 17 degrees Celsius. But it has changed the decision and sent correction, mentioning that schools in the districts will remain closed if temperature falls below 10 degrees Celsius.

According to the DSHE letters, “Severe cold waves are flowing in different districts of the country. It is being learned that regular academic activities are disrupted due to the ongoing cold waves. For instance, the educational schools in the districts, where the temperature falls below 10 degrees Celsius, will remain closed.”
Those institutions will be shut until the maximum temperature rises to 10 degrees Celsius or above, it said.
