Academic activities of all primary schools in Kurigram, Panchagarh and Dinajpur districts have been shut down due to heavy cold wave.
The schools will not be reopened until a further notice comes.
Director General of Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) Shah Rezwan Hayat confirmed the news on Thursday (January 18).
Academic activities have been suspended, but teachers will remain present for other activities, he said.
Education authorities in any district can shut down schools if the temperature drops below 10 degrees Celsius, said the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) and the Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) in separate circulars on Tuesday.
