RU students block rail line 

Students of the Rajshahi University blocked the Dhaka-Rajshahi railway route on Monday for more than five hours, demanding abolition of the quota system in government jobs.

Due to the blockade programme, the train movement between Rajshahi and the rest of the country was suspended. But it become normal after students had lifted the blockade in the afternoon.

Demonstrators started to gather on the Paris Road from different residential halls of the university. Later, they brought out a procession and paraded on the campus before taking position on the railway line in the Meherchandi area.
