All primary schools in city corporation areas closed sine die

The Primary and Mass Education Ministry has shut down all primary schools in the city corporation areas across the country for an indefinite period amid the ongoing quota reform protests.

A press notification issued from the ministry confirmed the matter on Wednesday (July 17).

According to the notice, all government primary schools in the City Corporation area of the eight divisional cities under the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, primary schools run by the Child Welfare Trust and learning centers run by the Bureau of Non-Formal Education will remain shut until further notice.

Earlier on Tuesday night, the education ministry declared all secondary schools, colleges, and polytechnical institutes closed amid quota protests.
