Nahid promises to meet demands
JnU campus project to be handed over to army

Information Adviser Nahid Islam has pledged to meet the demands of Jagannath University (JnU) students within three days. As per pledge, the project of second JnU campus will be handed over to Bangladesh Army.
Thousands of students went to the Secretariat with a procession from the campus and besieged the Secretariat to press home their demands including construction of the university’s second campus by the army and increasing the university’s budget allocation.
Later, a 12-member delegation of students entered the Secretariat with a memorandum to submit it to the Education Secretary. The delegation also demanded a written order from the secretary.
The delegation met ICT Adviser Nahid Islam, also a student representative in the interim government, and he assured them of meeting all their demands within three days.
The 12-member JnU delegation includes their spokesperson Tausib Mahmud Sohan, organisers AKM Rakib, Raisul Islam Noyon, Asadul Islam, Abu Bakr Khan, Naushin Nawar Joya, Sohan Pramanik, Masud Rana, Nur Nabi, Omar Faruk, Ferdous Sheikh, and Apu Munshi.
Tausib Mahmud Sohan said, “We came to the Education Secretary with the memorandum. We will remain here until the Education Adviser arrives. Since we have come outside, we won’t go back. The Education Adviser must come to us.”
Finally, after the assurance of Nahid, the students left the Secretariat.
