Education Adviser Professor Wahiduddin Mahmud has said that the project of second campus of Jagannath University (JnU) will be handed over to Bangladesh Army.
“We have no problem with the army if they implement the project. If the university administration wants to give the project to the army through the UGC, the ministry of education has no problem with that. We will cooperate in signing a contact with the army”, he said.
The adviser said this while talking to journalists after a meeting with a delegation of JnU teachers and students on Tuesday.
The education adviser said, “I have not seen the land allocated for Jagannath University. However, it is a huge area and a big plan. It can be called a big project of the interim government. I understand the students’ complaints, why the land was not acquired; there was a corruption. After investigating, disciplinary actions should be taken against the project director and a new director should be appointed. The current project is being run through BUET, it can be taken forward”.
