44th BCS viva-voce cancelled, 46th preliminary results to be re-announced

Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) has cancelled the viva-voce of 44th BCS. A total of 3930 candidates participated in the viva-voce, and they have to participate it again.
The PSC has also decided to re-announce the preliminary examination results of 46th BCS.
The PSC issued two separate press releases in this regard on Monday.
According to a press release, the 46th BCS were originally announced on May 9, 2024 where a total of 10,638 candidates were selected for the written examination. However, to ensure fairness and eliminate potential biases, the PSC has decided to include an equal number of additional candidates for the written test and the results will be re-declared accordingly.
Another press release said, for the 44th BCS, 11,732 candidates passed the written exam and 3,930 candidates had already undergone the viva-voce examination by July 18, 2024.
The exams were suspended on August 25, 2024 and the commission resigned on October 8, 2024.
To maintain fairness, the previous viva-voce exam taken by the 3,930 candidates have been canceled and now the exams will be held for all 11,732 candidates who passed the written exam.
The date for the exams will be announced soon.
The evaluation of answer papers for the 45th BCS written exam is currently ongoing, with the second examiner's evaluation nearing completion. To ensure transparency and fairness, the new commission has decided to send all answer papers to a third examiner for review.
