Education Adviser Wahiduddin Mahmud doesn’t know when all students will get their textbooks in the current academic year.
The adviser made the comment while talking to journalists after a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Government Procurement at the Secretariat on Tuesday (January 7).
“We started the book printing process late. We had to revise our books. We had to redesign the syllabus and curriculum. The number of books has increased a lot. No books are being printed abroad. This is the first time that the country’s capacity is being shown. This will definitely delay it”, he said.
The adviser said, “This year, even after recovering all the art paper stock from various warehouses, we realised there was still a shortage. Ships carrying art paper will arrive soon”, he said.
