Like primary schools, the ministry of education has accepted the demand for nationalization of all independent Ebtedayee madrasas registered with the Madrasa Education Board.
The ministry has informed that all independent Ebtedayee Madrasas in the country will be nationalized in phases.
Joint Secretary of the Technical Madrasa Department SM Masudul Haque made this announcement at Shahbagh around 4 pm after a meeting at the Secretariat on Tuesday (January 28).
Teachers of independent Ebtedayee madrasas — primary-level educational institutions under the madrasa board —called off their sit-in protest upon receiving assurance of nationalisation of all registered institutions.
“We have ended our protest as the government assured us nationalising all the madrasas in phases by 2027,” Rabiul Islam, an executive member of Swatantra Ebtedayee Madrasa Shikkhak Oikyojote.
