'Over 13.11 lakh students to sit for HSC exam this year'

Senior Correspondent: Some 1,311,457 students will appear for the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination in this year. Of them, 692,730 are female students and 618,727 are male students.

The Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid made the disclosure while addressing a press conference at his secretariat office on Wednesday noon.

Nahid said the HSC and its equivalents examinations will begin from April 2 across the country.

"All types of preparation have been taken ahead of the examination. The packets of questions will be opened just 25 minutes before the examination to stop question leakage," he said.

This year, the students of 8,943 educational institutions will sit for the exams at 2,542 examination centers.
