Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni has said the ministry is mulling to reduce number of HSC examination subjects for this year as the examination got stuck in this difficult time of coronavirus.
The minister made the disclosure at an online seminar organised by the Education Reporters' Association Bangladesh (ERAB) on Saturday.
Dipu Moni said the examinations will be held 15 days after bringing the coronavirus situation under control. These 15 days are for taking preparation for the students. However, there is no logic to reduce the HSC syllabus of current year. Because they have already completed their syllabus.

Environment for opening educational institutions has not yet been created. We have to think about it and monitor the situation. We cannot tell at the moment whether we could open educational institutions in next August or September.
The Minister said we cannot open educational institutions pushing crore of students and their families in risks. However, we have to try to find out how to take the educational activities forward online by keeping the institutions closed.
