Risingbd reporter Rahat Saiful honoured with award

‘Chardike Self-Reliant Award-2023’ has been awarded for outstanding contribution in various fields. This time Rahat Saiful, the senior reporter of popular online news portal risingbd, got this honour.

The award was given in a colourful ceremony held at the Sheraton Hotel in the capital on Saturday (December 2). National Film Award-winning veteran actress Dilara Zaman has also been honoured with a lifetime achievement award on this stage.

Artist Momtaz Begum, film actor Misa Sawdagar, film actress Apu Biswas, popular actress Bidya Sinha Mim, Prarthana Fardin Dighi, actor Nirab, Emon, actress Runa Khan, Brand Promoter Barisha Haque, singer Ankhi Alamgir, Swapnil Sajib, Protik Hasan, entrepreneur Sifat Nusrat, actress Tareen Jahan, Shampa Reza and many others have been honoured with this award for their outstanding contributions in the media, music, fashion and social media.

Goutam Saha, Mustafa Tarik Hadi and Kazi Nazmul Hasan organized the event.

At present, Rahat Saiful is playing his role as the deputy general secretary of Bangladesh Film Journalists’ Association (BFJA), a traditional organization for journalists. Besides, he is a member of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ), Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ), Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU), the mother organizations for journalists.

Rahat Saiful started his career in journalism with the daily Barta Probaha. Then, he worked in the daily Natun Sangbad and daily Jaijaidin newspaper. Currently, he is working in risingbd.com, one of the country’s popular online news portals. He plays special role in film journalism by writing investigation reports. He has bagged several awards including Golam Kibria honour in his journalism career.

Rahat Saiful has engaged himself in social service. During the Coronavirus pandemic in 2020, he established the human welfare organisation ‘Bodh’. In the meantime, the organisation has implemented various programmes.
