Arifin Shuvoo’s mother dies

Dhallywood actor Arifin Shuvoo, popularly known for his portrayal of the Father of the Nation in the 2023 biopic ‘Mujib: The Making of Nation’, lost his mother on Wednesday (January 24) night.

Shuvoo’s mother, Khairun Nahar, passed away at 11:55pm on Wednesday due to a brain haemorrhage while undergoing treatment at the capital’s National Institute of Neuro Sciences and Hospital. She was 70.

Former general secretary of the Bangladesh Film Artists Association and actor, Zayed Khan confirmed the news.

The namaz-e-janaza of Shuvoo’s mother was held after the Fazr prayers and her burial was completed at the Martyrs Intellectual Graveyard in the capital.

According to sources close to the actor, Shuvoo’s mother felt ill on January 21 (Saturday). Since then, she was undergoing treatment in the ICU of the hospital. Besides, she was suffering from schizophrenia since 2017.

Arifin Shuvoo requested the people of the country to pray for his mother’s departed soul.
