Nipun files writ seeking ban on Misha-Dipjol committee

Actress Nasrin Akter Nipun has filed a writ with the High Court (HC) seeking cancellation of Film Artistes Association election for the term 2024-2026.

The writ was filed with the court of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Kazi Zinat Haque on Wednesday (May 15). Advocate Palash Chandra filed the petition on behalf of Nipun.

She also sought a ban on the committee led by Misha Sawdagar and Monowar Hossain Dipjol from performing its duties.

Citing irregularities and election manipulation in the polls, the Nipun also sought a probe committee.

Earlier, the Film Artistes Association election was held on April 19 where Misha Sawdagar has been elected as the new president for the term 2024-2026, while Monowar Hossain Dipjol as the general secretary. Chief election commissioner Khorshed Alam Khasru announced the result.
