RH Sohel named best director at ‘TRAB Award 2024’

Small screen producer and director Rakibul Hossain Sohel, popularly known as RH Sohel in the theatre world, was honored as the best director in the Television Reporters Association of Bangladesh (TRAB) Award 2024. He has been directing and producing dramas for more than 25 years.
The ‘25th TRAB Award 2024’ were held on Saturday (November 23), at a hotel in Bijoynagar, Dhaka, where RH Sohel was awarded the esteemed title of Best Director.
RH Sohel was awarded the Best Director award for his immaculate production style in the drama ‘Kalo Jamai’ penned by Rajib Moni Das.
At the event, RH Sohel was presented with the award by renowned film personality Kazi Hayat, Syed Margub Morshed, and Mir Hasmat Ali.
Expressing his gratitude, RH Sohel stated, “I am overwhelmed with receiving this award and grateful to all. It always feels good to be recognized for any work. It elevates love, passion, and responsibility towards the work. I don’t want to box myself into a single pace or style.”
He added, “I consistently keep the audience in my mind while working and plan to continue this approach in the future. I want to be involved in stories that represent diversity.”
In 2023, RH Sohel also received International Achievers Award 2023 as best small screen director in recognition of his work. The award ceremony was held in London.
So far, he has produced more than three thousand dramas in his career. Besides, he has made over 250 dramas.
RH Sohel’s notable works are-- “Tear Khancha”, “Sona Baou”, “Mayer Samman”, “Baba Keno Chakor”, “Kalo Jamai” and others.
