Srabonti receives divorce letter

Entertainment Desk: Popular Bangladeshi actress Ipshita Shabnam Srabonti has received divorce letter by her husband Mohammad Khorshed Alam.

The notice was served to the address of her father’s house of Bogura sadar on May 7.

Srabonti has been living in US for long days. She was informed over the divorce letter when she was there. Later, she returned home on June 25. Since, she is staying in Bogura.

It was learnt that the popular model and actress Srabonti tried to communicate her husband Khorshed Alam on different ways. But she was failed. Later, she filed a dowry case against him under Women Repression Act   with the capital’s Khilgaon Police Staton on June 26. She is supposed to come to Dhaka from Bogura with her two daughters on July 4.

Srabonti was out of reach after she had been tried to contact over mobile phone several times.

Meanwhile on Saturday, Srabonti posted a status on her social networking account, “Why are you doing like this? Please, forgive us. We need not to live in a room, but in a roof. Please, be kind on the children.”

“Once you promised you will never go away. Why have you left us? Please, do not raise up our children in broken family. I request you with hands like a beggar, please do not hurt our children mentally,” she also wrote.

Srabonti tied the knot with associate professor Khorshed Alam of Drama and dramatology department in Jahangirnagar University (JU) on September 29 in 2010.

The couple had two daughters. Eldest daughter is Rabiah Alam, 7, while the youngest is three and a half-year-old Arisha Alam.
