PM donates Tk 20 lakh to Afzal Sharif

Entertainment Correspondent: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina provided financial assistance to actor Afzal Sharif for treatment.

She handed over a cheque of Tk 20 lakh to the actor at the premier's office on Wednesday noon.

Afzal Sharif has been suffering from various physical problems for a long time. The National Film Award-winning actor must occasionally not act because of pain, spinal cord and bone pain. Regular therapy is good and after some time physical degradation occurs.

Now the actor needs better treatment. But because of the financial crisis he cannot take better medication.

With the help of artist and founder and general secretary and playwright GM Saikat, Afzal appealed to the prime minister's office for the treatment on September 13.

Mohammed Shamim Musfik, the prime minister's assignment official, accepted the application for the treatment of Afzal Sharif.
