People pay tribute to Amjad Hossain at Shaheed Minar

Entertainment Correspondent: People of all walks of lives paid rich tributes to renowned filmmaker and actor Amjad Hossain at the Central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka today.

Earlier, his body was flown from Thailand on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight that landed on Friday evening. The body will be taken to offices of ATN Bangla and Channel I. Later, the body will be taken to BFDC for paying tribute where a Namaz-e-Janaza will be held there. He will be laid to rest in his village home in Jamalpur.

On December 14, the veteran director breathed his last at Bumrungrad International Hospital in Bangkok. He was taken there on November 28. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina took care of his medical bills.

Amjad Hossain stepped into the film industry as an actor in ‘Harano Din’ in 1961. Later, he paid focus on writing scripts and directing films. He made debut as film director through ‘Agun Niye Khela’ in 1967.
