Police to interrogate actress Shimla

Staff Correspondent: Police will interrogate film actress Samsun Nahar Shimla in a case filed over the Biman flight hijack attempt incident.

Inspector Rajesh Barua, Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP), confirmed the matter to media on Thursday.

“Shimla, the ex-wife of plane hijacker Palash Ahmed, is staying Mumbai for a film shooting right now. She will be interrogated after returning from there,” Rajesh Barua said. 

Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime sources said that the investigation officers received various types of evidence from civil aviation in the case. The evidences included- a toy gun, fake bomb, passport, dress, bag and other items of slain Palash.

As part of the investigation, the family members of actress Shimla will also face interrogation, said investigators.

Earlier on Sunday, Biman’s Flight BG-147, which was on its way to Dubai from Dhaka via Chittagong, had made an emergency landing at Shah Amanat International Airport. A man named Palash Ahmed, 26 who allegedly tried to hijack a Biman flight, was killed in a commando operation at the airport after all passengers were evacuated safely.
