Popular singer Shakira has decided that she will auction off her golden jacket to raise funds in fighting coronavirus or Covid-19.

The popular Colombian singer on Monday (July 20) morning announced that she is about to make a huge donation, but she will give something a little more special than cash to her new cause.

Shakira will be donating the golden jacket that she famously wore to the 2020 Super Bowl, according to a post made to her Twitter account.

In the post, Shakira revealed that the jacket will go to auction in order to raise money for the 'All In Challenge'.

“Shak’s accepted the #ALLINCHALLENGE by donating her custom-made gold jacket - worn at the Super Bowl LIV HT Show - to the @allinchallenge auction,” the post reads.

The winner of the jacket, however, will get more than just a shiny piece for their wardrobe. “The winning bidder also gets to meet Shak at a future show,” the account posted.

The money raised via the jacket’s auction will go towards feeding those without food. “All proceeds to battle food insecurity,” the singer’s account tweeted.

Shakira’s donation will be part of the All In Challenge, an online fundraiser to support those most impacted by the economic fallout caused by the pandemic.

According to the challenge’s Twitter page, it is, “the largest digital fundraiser ever.”

Its mission statement encourages some of the wealthiest people in the United States to provide relief to the impact of Covid-19: “challenging everyone athlete, sports owner, team, league, celebrity and artist to go ALL IN.”

In the cover photo of the @allinchallenge home page on Twitter, the banner reads, “raising tens of millions for Covid-19 relief.”

Shakira joins a number of other celebrities in accepting the challenge. Notable participants include Shawn Mendes, Jonah Hill, Andrew Yang, and Paris Hilton._Agencies
