Popular child actor Prarthana Fardin Dighi has been sued in one crore libel suit.
Her father and his maternal uncle have also been sued in the case filed by noted filmmaker Delwar Jahan Jhantu.
The case was filed with Dhaka judge court on Wednesday (March 10) noon.
Delwar Jahan Jhantu himself confirmed the matter to risingbd. He said, “My respect is much higher than her (Dighi). I have written most number of stories for movies in the world. I have also made the most number of films in Asia. I think filing a case of Tk 10 crore is less also for me.”
Mentioning Dighi a threat to directors and producers, he said, “When the heroine of the movie said that the movie will not be hit, why should people go to halls? How daring she is! She (Dighi) is a threat to directors and producers if she says it will not work before release. It will become culture. Other heroes and heroines will also start to practice it.”
Prarthana Fardin Dighi first came into the limelight with a Grameenphone TVC. Later, as a child actor, Dighi acted in several films including Chachchu, Kabuliwala, Dadima and Ek Takar Bou, among others.
She even received National Film Awards in the category Best Child Artist for three of her films.
Delwar Jahan Jhontu has recently made a movie called ‘Tumi Acho Tumi Nei’. Asif Imroz and Prarthana Fardin Dighi acted together in it. The movie will be released across the country on March 12. Posters and trailers were published ahead of the release. Producers and Dighi were criticised for this. The heroine Dighi also echoed the same criticism like audiences that led to creating a conflict with the director.
