Actor Alamgir tests Covid-19 positive

Renowned film actor Alamgir Hossain has tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19).

Runa Laila, wife and legendary playback singer of Alamgir Hossain, confirmed the news to risingbd on Tuesday (April 20) afternoon.

“Alamgir is undergoing treatment at a local hospital in Dhaka under the supervision of excellent doctors, nurses and hospital staff,” Runa Laila wrote on her Facebook handle.

Describing Alamgir’s physical condition, she said, “He is in excellent spirits and is doing well. I believe he will come round soon.”

Runa Laila sought prayer from all for his early and complete recovery.

Bon on 4 April, 1950, Alamgir has been one of the most acclaimed film actors of Bangladesh. He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor for a record nine times.
