Mother of actress Aparna Ghosh dies

Jharna Ghosh, mother of National Film Award-winning actress Aparna Ghosh, has died.

She breathed her last while undergoing treatment in Chattogram on Sunday (September 18).

Aparna’s close friend and director Shafayet Mansoor confirmed the matter.

He wrote in a post on Facebook on Sunday morning, “With great sadness I inform you that our friend Aparna Ghosh’s mother passed away in Chattogram this morning.”

It was learned that Aparna Ghosh’s mother had been suffering from kidney disease. Jharna Ghosh underwent dialysis for 25 consecutive days at Bardem Hospital in Dhaka. She was taken to the USTC hospital in Chattogram from Dhaka on Saturday and was admitted to the ICU. Later that night she was put on life support. At 8:30 am on Sunday, the doctor said that she passed away.
