Model dies at fashion show stage

A 24-year-old model was killed when an iron pillar fell on her while she was walking down the fashion runway in Noida on Sunday.
The woman has been identified as Vanshika Chopra.
The accident was reported from Film City's Laxmi Sudio in Noida's Sector 16A.
The model died on the spot, while a young man was severely injured after a lighting truss (iron pillar) fell on top of them while they were walking the ramp during the fashion show.
Upon information, the police immediately reached the location and admitted the injured man to a nearby hospital.
According to the police, the injured man was identified as Bobby Raj was participants of the fashion show, where the incident took place at around 1.30 pm, during the event.
The police questioned the organisers of the show and the person who installed the lighting truss.
A case has been registered and the body of the deceased has been sent for post mortem, said the police.
The families of both the victims were informed, the police added.
Noida Additional Deputy Commissioner Police (ADCP) Shakti Awasthi said, “Vanshika Chopra died due to the falling truss during the fashion show in the studio of Film City. The panchnama of the dead body has been sent for postmortem. Further action is underway.”
