Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra singer Bulbul Mahalanobish no more

Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra artiste Bulbul Mahalanobish is no more.

The noted singer breathed her last early Friday.

His nephew actress Joita Mahalanobish confirmed this.

She was suffering from various complications for a long time.

Bulbul Mahalanobish was better known as a versatile singer and writer.

During Bangladesh’s Liberation War in 1971, Bulbul Mahalanobish was a prominent singer of Shwadhin Bangla Betar Kendra, where she also played the leading female character in “Jallader Darbar”, an extremely popular episodic radio play written by Kalyan Mitra.

She received numerous awards and distinctions in music, recitation and literature. She received the “Ambassador’s Award” for playing an integral role in the cultural practice of Bangladeshis in the United Arab Emirates.

She was the Finance Secretary of Bangladesh National Poetry Council; General Secretary of Rabindra Academy; Vice President of Nazrul Sangeet Shilpi Porishad; Member of Bangladesh Rabindra Sangeet Shilpi Sangshad and Publication Secretary of Bangladesh-India Friendship Society.

She wrote nine books which include collections of rhymes, poems, travel stories, Liberation War memoirs, Literary Compositions etc.
