Afzal Hossain hospitalised

Renowned actor Afzal Hossain has been admitted to a hospital in the capital.

He was admitted to Square Hospitals in the capital after he fell ill on Monday (September 4) night.

The actor is now undergoing treatment at coronary care unit (CCU) of the hospital.

Director Shihab Shahin confirmed this to risingbd on Tuesday (September 5) noon. 

Masum Bashar, a close friend of Afzal Hossain, said Afzal suffered a heart attack after being admitted to the hospital with pneumonia. Later, he was immediately shifted to the CCU. 

Afzal Hossain started his acting career in theatrical productions in the mid-1970s. He has recently completed shooting for a few films, including “Japito Jibon” and “Oporajeyo”. The veteran actor has also been featured in several OTT productions.

He was awarded the Ekushey Padak in 2022.
