A shooter carried out an attack on a Walmart in Ohio’s Beavercreek in the United States of America on Tuesday (November 21), leaving one person dead and three others injured.
The Beavercreek Police Department responded to the emergency at the retail store located in the city of approximately 46,000 residents, just east of Dayton.
Authorities confirmed that the threat had been neutralized, stating on social media, "The building has been cleared and secured. There is no active threat at this time." Three people injured during the incident were admitted to Soin Medical Center.
Eyewitness accounts also emerged on various social media platforms, with one shopper recounting her experience. "I was literally just shopping for Thanksgiving stuff and this guy walked right past me with an assault rifle and started shooting," she shared in a video on X. She could not confirm the extent of the casualties.
Another witness described the shooter as a "tall, young white guy" who was seen carrying an Army bag. "My nerves are shot right now," she said.
Visuals from the scene showed a heavy police presence after the shooting, with numerous patrol cars stationed around the Walmart, their lights piercing the night.
The police have yet to provide further details on the shooting or the identity of the victims. More information is expected to be released as the investigation progresses.
