A massive fire tore through a shopping mall in Pakistan’s Karachi city on Saturday, killing at least 11 people and injuring six.
The blaze tore through the multi-storey RJ Mall, a commercial high-rise that also houses call centres and software firms.
Local broadcaster Geo News said the blaze started early in the morning at RJ shopping mall on Karachi’s Rashid Minhas Road. The fire brigade rescued around 50 people but more remained inside the building and efforts are being made to bring them to safety, officials said.
