Japan Airlines plane engulfed in flames

A Japan Airlines plane was engulfed in flames at Tokyo's Haneda airport after a possible collision with a Coast Guard aircraft on Tuesday (January 2).
All 379 passengers and crew have been evacuated.
Live footage on public broadcaster NHK showed the aircraft erupt in flames as it skidded down the tarmac and fire crews feverishly tried to extinguish the fire.
The flight had departed from New Chitose airport, near to the city of Sapporo, on the northern island of Hokkaido at 16:00 local time (07:00 GMT). Sapporo is about 832km (517 miles) north of Tokyo.
According to the website Flightradar, the aircraft landed at Haneda Airport at 17:47 local time (08:47 GMT).
Haneda Airport has closed all runways following the incident, a spokesperson says.
