World food prices have dropped for the seventh consecutive month in February.
At that time, prices of sugar and meat increased slightly.
The United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization said this Friday.
Overall, world food commodity prices fell 0.7 percent in February and 10.5 percent against the previous year, Rome-based FAO said.
The vegetable oil price index posted the biggest fall, dropping 1.3 percent which is 11 percent lower from the previous year, thanks to high production.
Sugar prices, on the other contrary, jumped 3.2 percent overall, due to low production of sugar in Brazil, Thailand and India.
