Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian criticized Monday Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stressing that his psychological condition has worsened as a result of the repeated setbacks in his military campaign against Hamas militias in Gaza.
During a telephone conversation with his Syrian counterpart Faisal Mekdad on Monday, Amir Abdollahian described the fatal raid on Tehran’s consulate section in Damascus as “a violation of all international obligations and conventions”.
He blamed the consequences of the heinous move on the Zionist regime, stressing the necessity for a serious response by the international community to such criminal actions by Israel.
Netanyahu has completely lost his “mental equilibrium” due to the Israeli regime’s consecutive defeats in the blockaded enclave and his failure to achieve the Zionists’ ambitious goals.
Iran’s consulate in the Syrian capital was flattened on Monday in the Israeli aggression.
Iran’s Ambassador to Damascus Hossein Akbari confirmed the reports of the Israeli attack, and stated the Zionist regime had hit the building with six missiles. The envoy added seven people were martyred in the Israeli assault.
Since 2011, Syria has been gripped by foreign-backed militancy, as a result of which Daesh (also known as ISIS or ISIL) and other terror groups emerged in the country.
Iran maintains an advisory mission in the war-ravaged country at the request of Damascus, helping it in the face of foreign-backed terrorism. Several members of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) have so far been martyred in the battle against terrorists in Syria.
