New Zealand has announced to tighten the rules of employment or work visa, reports BBC.
A large number of immigrants arrived in the country in 2023. The New Zealand government on Sunday (April 7) announced the new policy to prevent the influx of low-skilled immigrants.
Among the changes introduced in New Zealand's policy are special English language skills. New Zealand's Ministry of Immigration says that even in low-skilled jobs, anyone who wants to come to work in this country must have special English language skills. Otherwise, the work visa will not be issued.
From now on, the low-skilled applicants have to fulfil English-language requirements and are allowed to stay on for three years - down from five previously.
According to New Zealand's Ministry of Immigration, a record 173,000 immigrants came to the country last year.
5.1 million people live in New Zealand. The number of immigrants has increased after the Coronavirus pandemic. Due to this, the financial sector is somewhat stagnant there.
