The results of the Indian Parliament or Lok Sabha elections are going to publish on Tuesday. The results of the polls held in seven phases from April 19 to June 1 will be announced today.
According to NDTV, will Prime Minister Narendra Modi win a historic third term or be hindered by a resurgent opposition? The counting of votes started at 8 am (local time of the country) and will continue till midnight.
Along with the counting of votes for the Lok Sabha elections, the counting of votes for the assembly elections of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh will also take place today.
This year's Lok Sabha elections show an intense competition between the two major alliances.
One of them is the country's ruling political party National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the other is the Congress-led India Alliance.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's NDA alliance is desperate to win a third consecutive term in power. On the other hand, the Congress-led India Alliance has also expressed hope of a landslide victory in the elections.
The voting took place in 543 Lok Sabha seats to send one representative each to the Lower House of the Parliament. Any party or coalition needs a majority of 272 seats to form the government.
