Plane carrying Malawi vice-president goes missing

A military plane carrying Vice President Saulos Chilima of the Southeast African country of Malawi has gone missing. Nine other people were on board the plane and they are also missing.
A statement issued from the President Lazarus Chakwera’s office confirmed the matter on Monday (June 10).
Carrying the 51-year-old vice-president, the aircraft left the capital, Lilongwe on Monday morning.
It said efforts by aviation authorities to make contact with the aircraft since it went off the radar had failed. The plane had been scheduled to land at Mzuzu Airport at 10:02 a.m.
Moses Kunkuyu, Malawi's information minister, told the BBC that all efforts were being made to locate the plane.
