Siddiq, who has developed policies for the City since 2021, will aim to enhance competitiveness and growth, succeeding former minister Bim Afolami.
Labour party candidate Tulip Siddiq has been re-elected as a British MP for the fourth consecutive term in the UK general election.
Tulip Siddiq, a granddaughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, contested the polls from the Hampstead and Highgate constituency.
She got 23,432 votes (48.3%) while her nearest opponent Conservative candidate Don Williams, received 8,462 votes (17.4%).
