The 6th International Loving Peace Art Competition was organized by IWPG Global Region 3 with cooperation of Humayra Afia, IWPG member in Bangladesh on July 1, 2024.

The competition held at Rong Pencil Academy’s Uttara Branch, under the theme “A Heart or Peace Conveyed to Friends Suffering from War,” gave a stage to youthful participants to demonstrate their sympathy for individuals experiencing war and to convey their vision for a peaceful world.

Humayra Afia, a high school student who was the first-place winner in the preliminary round last year as the only representative from Bangladesh, played a crucial role in organizing the event. As a dedicated member of IWPG, by taking their Peace Lecturer Training Education (PLTE), Humayra’s passion for peace and art was evident throughout the event.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from over 50 students representing various schools. The program was inaugurated with a heartfelt speech by Humayra Afia. Her words set a hopeful tone for the event, emphasizing the importance of peace and creativity in today's world.

The artworks were judged by two esteemed art teachers, Md. Khorshed Alam Jibon and Sabina Easmin who were joined by four dedicated volunteers and in organizing the event. The competition was an impressive showcase of talent and compassion, as students conveyed powerful messages through their creative expressions.

Meanwhile, IWPG is an international Women’s Peace Group, an NGO registered both in UN DCG and UN ECOSOC and is working actively for various peace activities such as International Women Peace Network, Spreading Peace culture, etc and uniting with UN women organizations together for urging the legislation of DPCW.
