Biden, Modi discuss Bangladesh situation in phone call

US President Joe Biden and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have discussed various regional and global issues during a phone conversation. Bangladesh issue came up in the phone conversation between the two leaders.

In a statement, India's Ministry of External Affairs on Monday (August 26) said the two leaders emphasized restoration of law and order and ensuring safety and security of the minorities, particularly Hindus, in Bangladesh.

The ministry also said the ongoing conflict in Ukraine was a key topic during the conversation.

Apart from the Ministry of External Affairs, Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself has confirmed the phone conversation with US President Joe Biden.
