16 killed in bus accident in Taiz heading to Aden

16 people were killed and three others injured when a bus carrying them overturned on Sunday southwest of Taiz, reports arabnews.

The bus was carrying passengers from Taiz to Aden, and overturned while passing through the "Al-Suha-Karbah" road, which is a temporary alternative road to the official road in "Hayjah Al-Abd", which is still undergoing repairs until now.

According to local sources, this road witnessed three other accidents on Sunday, in addition to the aforementioned bus rollover accident that led to the death of 16 people and the injury of three others.

The sources reported that among the dead were a child and three women. Among the three women was the mother of a ten-year-old boy who had kidney failure. She was heading with him to Cairo to donate her kidney to him, but she died, while her child was injured in the accident.

The alternative road "Al-Suha-Karbah" witnesses a large number of accidents almost daily, due to its deterioration and ruggedness.

A week before last, a military armored vehicle accompanying the convoy of the Presidential Council Chairman, Rashad Al-Alimi, overturned during his recent visit to Taiz._Agencies.
