Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s home was attacked by two flash bombs on Saturday (November 16) in the northern Israeli town of Caesarea, police said.
Both the bombs fell into the garden area and no damage was reported. The police further added in the statement that neither Netanyahu nor his family were present in the house when the incident took place.
Three people have been arrested earlier today in this connection.
In a post on X, Israel’s new Defence Minister Israel Katz said that the incident has crossed all the “red lines”.
“It is not possible for the Prime Minister of Israel, who is threatened by Iran and its proxies who are trying to assassinate him, to be subject to the same threats from home,” Katz said in the X post.
He further directed the Israel police, security agencies and law enforcement and judicial agencies to immediately take necessary steps and put an end to the situation.
Israel’s President Isaac Herzog also condemned the attack and said that it is a very serious and dangerous incident, while assuring that an investigation by the security agencies is underway.
The Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir also criticized the incident in a post on X and said, “The incitement against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu crosses all boundaries. Throwing a flash bomb into his house tonight is crossing another red line.”
Earlier in October, a drone was launched towards Netanyahu’s home in Caesarea but no harm was caused. Though the bomb attack on Saturday has not been claimed by anyone till now.
Israel had launched a ground offensive against Lebanon based Hezbollah militant group last month and have been trading fire with the group.
