Five journalists were killed while performing their duties during Israeli airstrikes on Palestinian territory, international media reports have stated.
Al Jazeera reported that the journalists were killed when an Israeli airstrike hit the live broadcast vehicle of Quds Network near al-Awda Hospital in the al-Nuseirat refugee camp.
Palestinian media outlets have identified the deceased journalists as Fadi Hasouna, Ibrahim al-Sheikh Ali, Mohammed al-Lad’aa, Faisal Abu al-Qumsan, and Ayman al-Jadi.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza issued a statement reporting that the number of casualties from the Israeli occupation’s assault on Gaza has reached 107,803 injured.
The statement further emphasized that in the past 24 hours, the Israeli occupation forces committed three massacres, killing 23 Palestinians and injuring 39 others. Many victims remain trapped under rubble or in streets, with rescue teams unable to reach them.
The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) condemned the deaths, calling for accountability.
Israel has continued a genocidal war on Gaza that has killed nearly 45,400 people, most of them women and children, since a cross-border attack by the Palestinian group Hamas on October 7, 2023.
Last month, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel is also facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in Gaza.
