Inflation hits 22-month low

The country’s overall inflation is at its lowest level in the last 22 months.
Food inflation fell to 9.24 per cent in February.
The Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) released an updated picture of inflation on Thursday (March 6).
In February, the point-to-point food inflation declined to 9.24 per cent, down from 10.72 per cent in January, the BBS data showed.
Meanwhile, the non-food inflation rate showed a slight increase reaching 9.38 per cent in February, up from 9.32 per cent in January.
The updated data of the BBS shows that the prices of food products decreased in January.
The BBS claimed that food inflation has decreased due to increased supply of winter season products.
