Dramatic train hostage standoff ends in Pakistan

In a dramatic showdown, Pakistani authorities successfully ended an insurgent attack targeting a train carrying hundreds in Balochistan.

Over 300 hostages were rescued, but some were killed during the attack.

The Baloch Liberation Army claimed responsibility, demanding the release of jailed militants. The government has historically rejected these terms.

The standoff concluded with all attackers neutralized, but not without casualties among the hostages.

Security officials reported that they rescued more than 300 hostages after the attackers seized the train in a remote tunnel on Tuesday. However, they remained tight-lipped about the exact number of hostages who lost their lives.

The Baloch Liberation Army, claiming responsibility for the attack, had demanded the release of jailed militants in exchange for freeing the passengers.

The government has previously dismissed such demands, maintaining its firm stance against negotiating with insurgents.
