Groom dies day after getting married, 111 test Covid-19 positive

A very tragic incident took place at a Patna village in the Indian province of Bihar as a big day of the bridegroom turned into a tragic virus spreader after 111 people who were part of a wedding have been tested positive for the novel coronavirus or Covid-19.
The 30-year-old groom, a software engineer in Gurugram had died a day after getting married.
However, he was cremated without being tested for coronavirus even though he was symptomatic.
As the groom was reportedly unwell and his condition deteriorated during the wedding. The groom was treated at a Patna hospital for diarrhea which is a coronavirus symptom but the family forced him to take medicine and go ahead with the rituals.
An anonymous call bought the attention of the district administration in Patna, a close relative of the couple were tested. As many as 15 people who had attended the wedding celebrations on June 15 tested positive.
Meanwhile, on Monday, 80 more people tested positive for novel coronavirus making it possibly the first case of mass spread of coronavirus in Bihar.
However, the Patna administration, could not test the deceased groom for Covid-19 as his family had cremated him without informing the authorities.
After the death of the 30-year-old groom, the district administration got aware and the Covid-19 test was conducted for all the guests who had attended the wedding where 95 tested positive for the virus and the bride test came negative.
As per the administration, there was a massive violation of the guidelines by the family who went ahead with the wedding despite the groom showing symptoms of coronavirus.
As many as 9,744 confirmed Covid-19 cases have been reported in Bihar so far, with 62 deaths linked to the virus._Agencies
