4 killed as expressway bridge collapses in China

Four people were killed and eight others were injured when an expressway bridge collapsed in China’s Hubei province on Saturday (December 18), reported the official Xinhua news agency.

A 500-meter-long section of the flyover that bridges between the two expressways in Ezhou city, in China’s central Hubei Province collapsed on Saturday around 3.30 pm.

The collapse caused three trucks to fall while a car was crushed underneath, Xinhua reported, adding an investigation is under way.

Work was being carried out on the bridge when the incident occurred, the report said._Reuters.
