Prisoner dies in Dhaka Central Jail

An inmate of Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Wednesday (November 8).

The deceased was identified as Md Hanif, 40.

According to prison guard Manoj Billal, Hanif suddenly fell ill this noon.

Later, on the instructions of the jail authorities, the prison guards took him to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital at 3:30 pm, where the duty doctor declared him dead.

Confirming the matter, DMCH Police Outpost in-charge inspector Md Bachchu Mia said the body has been kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy.
